Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) is the most widely used titanium alloy, accounting for approximately 50% of all titanium consumption in the world.
Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) is an alpha-beta titanium alloy containing 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. This composition results in an exceptional combination of high strength, low density, and excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications across multiple industries.
With a density of only 4.43 g/cm3 (approximately 60% that of steel), Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) offers one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios among metallic materials, while maintaining good ductility and fracture toughness.

Our Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) Sheet & Plate undergo a rigorous manufacturing process to ensure the highest quality and performance.
High-purity titanium sponge is combined with aluminum and vanadium master alloys in precise proportions. The mixture is pressed into electrodes and vacuum arc melted multiple times to ensure chemical homogeneity.
The titanium alloy ingot is heated to beta phase temperature (above 995°C) and forged into slabs using a series of hot working operations to break down the cast structure and improve mechanical properties.
The slabs are heated to 800-900°C and hot rolled into sheet form using a series of passes, gradually reducing thickness while maintaining the material in the alpha-beta phase field for optimal microstructure development.
For thinner gauges and improved surface finish, cold rolling is performed followed by annealing in a vacuum or inert atmosphere at 700-800°C to relieve stresses and achieve the desired mechanical properties.
The sheets undergo final processing including surface grinding, cleaning, and cutting to size. Each sheet is inspected for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and mechanical properties to ensure compliance with specifications.
Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) can be challenging to machine due to its low thermal conductivity and high strength at elevated temperatures. Proper machining techniques are essential:
Use high-speed steel (HSS) or carbide tools designed specifically for titanium
Maintain proper cutting speeds (60-120 m/min) and feed rates
Use adequate cooling with cutting fluids to prevent workpiece heating
Employ rigid setups to minimize vibration and chatter
Use positive rake angles to reduce cutting forces
Consider using low-pressure coolant systems for deep cuts
Our Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) sheet & plate meet or exceed the requirements of major international standards, ensuring quality and performance.
Our manufacturing facilities are certified to the following quality management systems:
Every batch of Ti-6Al-4V (Ti Grade 5) sheet & plate comes with comprehensive documentation ensuring full traceability from raw material to finished product:
